“For Love of the King” at NHCC

Sunday, August 30– Drive In Worship at 10AM at the New Horizons Christian Church Outdoor Worship Venue (also known as our parking lot). Stay in your car or bring a chair and sit outside or whatever seems to work for you. Remember to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Bring your own communion or it will be provided for you. The theme for this week is how we show our love for God, and the Camp Christian story that Pastor Jim will share is called “”For Love of the King.” The weather prediction is for dry and cool conditions.

As always, the service will be available on YouTube later in the day.

The Friendship Class and the Lord’s Workers Class will be meeting outside before worship.

Zoom Meetings on Tuesday – Prayer Team at 6PM and Reopening Team at 7PM.

Sunday Sept 13th Worship– This will be our final Sunday of our Camp Christian Summer series. This will be and EVENING Vespers service. This is in place of our church picnic this year. We will meet at 6:00 pm to eat and fellowship together. Everyone will need to bring their own meal and we will continue to practice social distancing guidelines and wearing masks when we are not eating. At 7:00 pm, we will begin our worship service. Part of the service will be recorded and available on YouTube on Monday.

DREAM BIG – Our Fall worship Emphasis is called “Dream Big” and it will kick off on Sunday September 20. We will be adapting material written by Bob Goff, and small groups meeting at various times midweek via Zoom will enable people to go deeper.

Private Prayer Time in the Sanctuary is now available on Tuesdays from 10AM until 2PM – Just Stop By.

Other Worship News – Depending on the weather and the Summit County Covid 19 Threat Level, we hope to have Drive- In Worship every other week in the fall just as we have done over the summer. Outdoor Services are scheduled for September 27, October 11, and October 25 with YouTube available later in the day. Worship on the other Sundays will be online only on our YouTube channel.

October will be our month of transition – Worship will return to its traditional time of 10:45, and we will have a couple of “dress rehearsals” of worship indoors on October 4 and 18. These will be our opportunities to make sure we have all safety protocols in place.

If everything works out, we hope to begin worship in the sanctuary on Sunday November 1 – All Saints Day. Online worship will continue to be offered. This return to the sanctuary is dependent on the Summit County Threat Level being at Level 1 (Yellow) or Level 2 ()range).

And for the best news of the week: Remi Laine Allman, daughter of Sami and Blake, was born on Thursday at about 1:30. 8 lbs 4 oz.
