NEW WORSHIP UPDATE

Once again, things have changed and it has become necessary to modify our in-person worship plans.

Given the current situation with the rise in Covid-19 cases and the recent Stay at Home advisory in Ohio, as well as Summit County adding to the advisory, it has become clear that it is in the best interest of everyone’s safety that we postpone our in-person worship start date.

The re-opening team has met and agrees that the following plan is the best response to our current circumstances at this time.

We will NOT hold in-person worship until Sunday December 20th, the first Sunday after the Stay at Home advisory is hopefully lifted. We will reevaluate the situation as we get closer to that date and modify our plans if necessary.

Sunday Dec. 6th– Second Sunday of Advent – Online Worship Only

Sunday Dec. 13th – Third Sunday of Advent – Online Worship Only

SUNDAY SCHOOL: While the current Stay at Home Advisory is in effect, our Sunday School classes will not be meeting. As we get closer to December 16th, we will let you know what the Sunday School classes will or will not be doing about meeting. You can also contact Jim, Ali, Valdene or Glenn for information about the classes.

BUCKEYE PICK UP: Buckeye orders will be available for pick-up on Saturday Dec. 5th from 10am – 12:00pm. You can drive up to the main doors of the church and your Buckeye order will brought out to you. Please contact Lisa Warner or Brenda Adkins for more information.

CHRISTMAS GIVING OPPORTUNITY: We are working on a Christmas giving opportunity that will help a number of families that could use some extra support this year. We don’t have all the details ironed out just yet, but we are working on it and will get that information to you soon. Keep your eye on the blog and your email for more information.

A NOTE OF ENCOURAGEMENT: This has not been an easy year by any means. Many people have faced a great deal of adversity in numerous ways, but we can’t give up and we can’t give in. “Let us not grow weary in doing the good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up,” (Gal. 6:9).

Church, now more than ever, we need to reach out and find ways to support, encourage, help, and love one another. Make that phone call, send that card, email, text, or do whatever you can to continue to keep connected with one another. There is an up side to this and we will get there. Let us keep that in sight and work to help one another keep the hope of that in sight.

We wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving. Know that we are grateful for each and every one of you that makes up this community of faith that we call New Horizons Christian Church.

As always, check the blog for weekly updates or you can call the church office, Jim, or Ali with any questions.
