Sisters in Christ
Sisters in Christ is for women who are connected to one another through prayer. Everyone who participates in this group is given a name of a fellow sister who they will pray for on a daily basis for an entire year. Names are kept secret and will be revealed to one another at the end of the year.
This page will be used for communication for the sharing of information about special gatherings, events, or notifications of various kinds. If you wish to participate in the Sisters in Christ ministry, please contact Holly Bane or Ali Miguel.
Circle of Light
Open to ladies of all ages, meets from September through May in the Fellowship Hall at 9:30 AM on the third Tuesday of the month. Meetings include prayer, a study or devotion, many sharing opportunities and sometimes a luncheon.
Special projects include making Buckeyes for a yearly fund raiser, with profits going to the general fund and special needs of the church.
The circle is also involved with the planning of the annual Mother-Daughter banquet.
Friendship Quilters’ Circle
When the church was established in 1932, a women’s group was among the first circles to be founded. The Friendship Quilters’ Circle, generations later and displaying some alterations, is that group. The Circle’s mission is to promote fellowship and strengthen support for women as they walk through their Christian life.
The main fundraiser is hand quilting tops that other people have made. Each quilt is a beautiful item that is quilted with care and prayer. Money raised is given away each December to various charities such as Haven of Rest, The Salvation Army, Hattie Larlham Foundation, and others. Some money is held back to support causes in the church, during the year.
The Circle meets every Wednesday, from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM. The women bring their own lunch, and coffee, tea and pickles are provided. Why pickles? When the group first started, toasted cheese sandwiches and pickles were the traditional menu served every week. Over the years, the sandwiches were omitted, but the pickles remained. Devotions and a monthly business meeting, with dues of $1.00, are held on the second Wednesday. Half of the members come from other churches, and anyone who wants to quilt or visit is welcomed.
Prayer Team
Meets every Tuesday at 10:30 AM
Prayer is one of the keys to spiritual growth for a church and for an individual Christian. We pray for the concerns of our church family and the wider world. In addition to intercessory prayer we also discuss books about prayer, share our own prayer challenges and learn new prayer techniques.
