As of Thursday December 3 Summit County’s Alert level has been moved to Purple, the highest threat level on the scale.
Most of us have friends or family members who have had Covid, and it has impacted New Horizons very directly. And more cases, unfortunately, seem to be coming our way. So stay home as much as possible and stay safe. We are not happy to be physically apart especially this time of year, but we look forward with hope to a better day ahead.
This Sunday Glenn and Lisa Warner light the second of our Advent wreath candles – our Love candle. Jim’s message based on Isaiah 40 and the first chapter of Mark is “What are you preparing for?” Join us in worship at 9AM on Sunday on our YouTube channel or watch at whatever time is convenient for you. Thank you to Sam who is back from Covid quarantine and helping again with recording our worship services.
Looking Ahead in worship – Ali will preach on “Is Peace Possible?” on Sunday December 13.
Christmas Eve will primarily be an online experience but we are looking at in person options outside the building if weather and healthy advisory permits.
Your Buckeye order can be picked up at the church on Saturday December 5.
Advent Devotional Books are available at the church office or we can mail one to you. Just contact Rose.
We will be having a Drive Through Open House at the church on Sunday December 20 from 10AM – Noon. Stop by and get an electric candle you can use for our online Christmas Eve service as well as receive a Christmas Poinsettia. Secret Sisters can drop off gifts that can be given out that morning as well. Other surprises are planned as well. No RSVP needed. You don’t even have to leave your car.
Want to help a child or family this Christmas? We don’t have our giving tree to take a child’s name and gift preference this year, but we are still helping children and their families. Rose is compiling a list of needs and how you can help. She is sending out a letter detailing how you can assist.
Pledge cards for 2021 are now being received at the office.
PICTURES NEEDED! We are working on a special addition for our Online Christmas Eve service. But we need pictures of all of you to make that happen! We are looking for pictures of you and your family near the Christmas tree, Advent wreath or somewhere in your home or outside. This is going to be a fun addition to worship so please snap a quick shot and text or email your pictures to Jim, Ali or Sam. We need all the pictures in by Tuesday, December 15. We can’t wait to see all the fun pictures you all will share!
