An Update From Ali: On Tuesday June 15th, I received my official approval by the Ohio Commission on Ministry for ordination. My ordination service will take place here at New Horizons on Sunday, August 29th at 3:00 pm. Thank you for all the prayers and support. It is a blessing to be a part of this church.

Upcoming Meetings:
There will be a board meeting on Tuesday, June 22nd at 7:00 pm. Our Regional Minister Rev. Allen Harris will be joining us for our board meeting. The item on the agenda is to discuss the pastoral transition plan. If you have any questions about this or would like to know more, you are welcome to attend the meeting.
A meeting for Congregational Conversation will be held next Sunday, June 27th at 9:30am. This meeting will be focused on the upcoming change in pastoral leadership. This meeting is open to all members of the church.
There will be a few representatives from the Akron Urban League at our church on Sunday, June 27th. After our 10:45 am worship service they will be sharing with our Sisters-in-Christ, as well as anyone who would like to attend, more about the baby backpack program that we are helping to gather supplies for. There will be a light lunch provided for those who wish to attend. If you plan on joining us, please let Holly or Ali know.
Mission Opportunity:
The Sisters in Christ are taking on a new mission project. We will be helping the Akron Urban League provide 30 back packs filled with baby supplies for expectant and new mothers who are in need of some extra help with these resources.
The entire month of July will be focused on gathering the supplies needed for the backpacks. We will kick off the month of giving on Sunday July 4th, with a “Big Give Day.” On that day we ask that you bring to church as many of the items you wish to bring from the following needs list. After this initial giving, the remainder of the Sundays in July will focus on specific items from the list. We will keep you posted on what those items will be. If you wish to contribute monetarily, feel free to do so. Please mark your check or online giving with “Baby Mission” so we know what it is for.
